Breakfast
This is one of our earliest characters, and remains one of our most popular characters to this day. Our model belonged to an architect in West London. She was asleep on top of the washing machine when we arrived to photograph her and stayed on top of the machine throughout the shoot, somewhat aloof. We suspect that it was warm and that’s why she didn’t want to move….
The Hair
There was a lot of hair to draw, it’s a very particular coiffeur, we drew it dark but particularly shiny so there were lots of highlights to include. Despite it being almost black in our artwork there are lots of areas of grey and white, to give the shine effect.
The Gloves
Every sophisticated cat needs a little black dress and gloves….
The Necklace
The necklace was inspired by the modernist designs of British jeweller Grima.
